Just saw this link on msn. This boy should totally be in the circus.
And I mean that in the best way. In fact, I listen to NPR for a few minutes in the mornings because it's my alarm and I heard about this major gathering of circus performers that happens every year (?) in Paris, and they talked about this Seattle couple who do the trapeze, 25 years old, and they've been doing it for 4 years. They were both biology majors and lab partners before they started that. Wild!

Ok, hair a little less ugly today. I just feel awkward in this hair. And like I might be in the wrong decade.

A friend remarked that I looked like a brunette Madonna - Yes! I said, like on the cover of True Blue. Definitely.

I have long considered the time between Samhain (Oct 31) and Yule (Dec 21/22) a time with no time, where the old year has passed and the new one has yet to be reborn. Last night, someone I think fondly of offered me a perfect image: the incubation of the birth. Now is a time to think of the great mother - but perhaps with a different mood. Instead of the bursting with fertility in the spring mother, I think of the quiet time of expectation. The hibernation. The incubation. Like the new moon that grows to full. Forgot to say a cool little thing. On the plane on the way back from Massachusetts, I was flipping through my Mountain Astrologer and saw an ad for the NORWAC 2008 conference, and there was my little old name! He he.

And then just now I decided to go to NORWAC's page and the 2008 data is up, so I've just discovered, through that web page, what topic Laura chose for me to discuss: Reconstructing Pop Astrology: From Branches to Roots. That will be on Sunday, April 6th, at 10:15 am. WEE! GO ME! I think I am in a decent position too, so hopefully people come :) SWEET!

In response to Jeanette's latest column on her website, I wrote her an email about astrology stuff. She has been interested, I know this from previous writings, in astrology, so I knew it wouldn't be utterly unwelcome, and I wrote in response to something she said on her column about a despair hitting people around mid-life. I referred to the pluto square, the uranus opposition, and the neptune square as potentials. She wrote me back personally, woo! :) It's just little, but I feel all neat and special:

I just realized that I am surrounded by Alice in Wonderland imagery and am starting to wonder if it's relevant for any reason.

It started with a client asking me if I knew of any 'white rabbit' metaphorical significance. Then Alice in Wonderland has developed as one of Lily's favorite things to watch obsessively. Then it got me playing the dark Alice game. Then I see little things - I just saw an ad for Marilyn Manson's Eat Me Drink Me album, which seems clearly a reference to the Alice story although I don't know cuz I didn't explore further yet. I know there have been a couple of other fleeting references...

HA!

However, somebody's dad and husband and grandfather just died. I am solemn about that. So don't think I'm dancing just cuz we had a humorous moment.
